Municipal Board Of Canvasses Meeting Minutes, August 11, 2026
CALL MEETING TO ORDER – Clerk Abigail Ewing called the meeting to order at 9:24pm
ROLL CALL – Clerk Abigail Ewing, Election Clerk Janet Brown, Chief Inspector Jane Knutson, Poll Workers Daniel Killam and Catherine Killam.
AGENDA PROPERLY NOTICED – Clerk Abigail Ewing stated the agenda was properly noticed.
APPROVE AGENDA – Election Clerk Janet Brown made a motion to approve the agenda. Clerk Abigail Ewing seconded. Motion Carried.
REVIEW ELECTION RESULTS – The Local Board of Canvass convened in open session at 8:00 p.m. MBOC followed directly after Tally Results were called in to the Richland County Clerk.
Polls were closed, tally reports were run, seals were removed from the voting
machine, ballots removed. Memory cards were removed from the machine and
placed in the lanyard. Both poll books were compared and completed.
Election Day Registrations were 5. Absentee ballots were recorded and voted, 8 were returned of the 16 mailed out. Inspector’s Statement with incident log was completed and reviewed for accuracy. Tally tapes were reviewed and verified. Results were entered on the call-in sheet and phoned in to the County Clerk with total voters at 121.
Ballots were sealed in plastic bag, signed & dated. All required materials for the County Clerk were gathered for delivery to the Clerk’s office and will be delivered no later than 4:00pm on August 12, 2026.
REVIEW PROVISTIONAL BALLOTS (IF ANY) – There were no provisional ballots.
ADJOURN – Clerk Abigail Ewing made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Election Clerk Janet Brown seconded. Meeting adjourned at 9:36 p.m.
NEXT LBOC MEETING – November 3, 2026, at 8:00pm
NEXT MBOC MEETING – November 3, 2026, immediately following Local Board of Canvass.
