New for this year, The Town of Orion allows payments online through an internet interface with Value Payment Systems (VPS), LLC. The payment options of E-Checks, Debit Cards and Credit Cards are allowed through VPS. This service will be turned off after the grace period for first installments. VPS charges a convenience fee to process these payments. This fee is paid directly to VPS and Richland County nor the municipality does not receive any portion of this fee.
To pay taxes online, you will need to know your parcel numbers and amounts which can be found by clicking LandNavPortal.
Be sure to select the correct “Tax Year” below Owner Information. There is an instructions guide for how to make payments on the Public Portal Homepage.
Convenience Fees:
E-Checks = $1.50
Credit Cars = 2.95% (Minimum of $2.95) on an unlimited number of parcels.
Debit Cars = 1.5%
E-Checks are Electronic checks so you will need your checking account number and routing number, not Debit Card number.
Example: If payment is for $500.00 the convenience fee would be $14.75. Example: If payment is for $500.00 the convenience fee would be $7.50.
Pet Licenses
Additionally, pet licenses are also important in Orion to register and protect your furry friends. Keeping up with these responsibilities helps maintain a well-functioning community and ensures the safety of both residents and pets. Richland County requires all dogs within the county to be licensed EVERY YEAR. Annual Dog Licenses need to be obtained in the Town of Orion Treasurer’s Office by April 1 of each year. The cost is $8.00 per dog or $3.00 if the pet is spayed or neutered.
To Obtain a Dog License for each of your dogs:
- You must provide a copy of your receipt from the Veterinarian for each dog you are seeking a license for that shows
- Date of Rabies Vaccination
- Make & serial number of the vaccine, &
- Expiration Date
- You must include the payment for each license requested:
- $3 for each dog that is spayed/neutered, OR
- $8 for each dog that is not spayed/neutered.
